A family run company since quarry operations commenced at Lochhead quarry in Forfar in 1958, Laird Brothers is now a flourishing fourth generation independent company.

The company has strengthened its product portfolio and is now Scotland’s largest dense concrete block manufacturer, while also being recognised as one of the best in terms of quality and service, for both concrete blocks and Readymix concrete.

Achieving this position while competing in a highly competitive marketplace, largely composed of multinationals, has facilitated an ambition within our company to further enhance our product and customer base.

A £4 million investment in a new concrete factory, which will enable us to manufacture a wider variation of concrete products is now underway. This symbolises our passion and dedication for supplying the building industry competitively priced concrete products in the East of Scotland. Furthermore Laird Brothers owns its own fleet of lorries which delivers around 90% of our products to customers.

We can offer our customers a quality product at a highly competitive price delivered to them. This is the foundation of our business model and is only achievable with a first class workforce and internally supplied aggregates. Not being a PLC allows us to respond to the demands of our customers and the market via independent decision making thus engendering an efficiency unrivalled by our competition.
